There is a large gap between the amount of time users spend online on mobile devices and share of ad spend for this device type. With the increase in smartphone usage the amount of data traffic people consume on their smartphones goes up. According to Mary Meeker’s 2015 Internet Trends Analysis report published by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, users spend more that half of their time with digital media on mobile devices. So there definitely exists a spending opportunity for mobile ads.
